Ridgeline Boot Co. boots are sold through the online store operated by Brighty Basket (“we”, “us”, “our”), which is powered by Shopify. When you select Buy on ridgelineboots.com, you complete your purchase on Brighty Basket’s secure Shopify checkout, and your order is placed with Brighty Basket.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you visit ridgelineboots.com (the “Site”), sign up for our emails or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

• Email sign-up. If you enter your email address in our sign-up window, we collect that email address, the time you signed up and the discount code you were shown.
• Orders. When you check out, Shopify collects the information needed to complete your order on our behalf: your name, email address, shipping and billing addresses, phone number (if you provide it), the items you ordered and your payment details. Payments are processed by Shopify and its payment partners.
• How you use the Site. Pages you view, product options you select, buttons you use (for example Buy), the sign-up window being shown, the page or ad campaign that brought you here (such as UTM parameters and advertising click identifiers), and basic device, browser and network information such as your IP address.
• Messages. Anything you send us when you contact customer support.

Email sign-ups

When you sign up, your email address is saved in the sign-up records of PageForge, the platform this Site is built and hosted on, and is added to our Shopify store as a customer profile that has agreed to receive marketing emails. We use it to send you your discount code and marketing emails such as offers and product news. We may use an email service provider to send those emails.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email, or by emailing support@brightybasket.com.

After you sign up, the Site remembers on your device that you signed up and which code you claimed, so the code can be added to your cart automatically when you check out from this Site.

Checkout and Shopify

Our checkout and order processing run on Shopify. Shopify processes your personal information to provide and improve its services, as described in the Shopify Privacy Policy. Your order information is shared with the people and services needed to fulfil it, such as payment processors and shipping carriers.

Google Ads tag

The Site loads the Google tag (gtag.js) for Google Ads. Google may set cookies or use similar identifiers to measure visits and purchases that come from our ads and to help show relevant ads. PageForge analytics

PageForge records page views and store events on this Site, such as the sign-up window being shown, add-to-cart and checkout starts, together with a random session identifier and the campaign parameters described above. If you signed up during your visit, your email address is attached to add-to-cart and checkout-start events so we can connect them to your sign-up. We use these records to understand how the Site performs and to attribute orders to the ads or links that brought visitors here.

Cookies and similar technologies

• Session storage on this Site (cleared when you close the tab): a random session identifier, campaign parameters, advertising click identifiers and, if you sign up, your email address.
• Local storage on this Site: whether you have signed up, the discount code you claimed, and when you closed the sign-up window (so we don’t show it again for 7 days).
• Google cookies set through the Google tag, used for advertising measurement.
• Shopify cookies set on the checkout, used to run the cart and checkout, remember your session and help prevent fraud.

You can clear or block cookies and site storage in your browser settings. Blocking them may stop parts of the Site or checkout from working, and will show the sign-up window again.

How we use your information

• To process, ship and support your orders, including returns and refunds.
• To send your discount code and, with your consent, marketing emails.
• To measure and improve the Site and our advertising.
• To help keep the Site and checkout secure and prevent fraud.
• To comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

How we share information

• With Shopify and with service providers who work on our behalf, such as website hosting and analytics (PageForge and its infrastructure providers), payment processing, customer support, email delivery, fulfilment and shipping.
• With Google, for advertising measurement through the Google tag.
• When required by law, to protect our rights or those of others, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger or sale.

How long we keep information

How long we keep personal information depends on why we have it: for example, to provide our services and support your orders, to comply with legal obligations, to resolve disputes or to enforce our policies. Email sign-up details are kept until you unsubscribe and ask us to delete them, unless we need to keep them longer for these reasons.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to restrict or object to certain uses, and to opt out of marketing. To make a request, email support@brightybasket.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and you may use an authorized agent. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

The Site is not directed to children. Purchases must be made by people who have reached the age of majority where they live, as set out in our Terms of Service.

International transfers

We may transfer, store and process your personal information outside the country you live in. If we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, unless the transfer is to a country considered to provide adequate protection.
